Food Review: Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams (Columbus, OH)

I had the chance to enjoy a couple scoops of Jeni's ice cream while I was at the first EURO Bike Night of the year in Grandview. With its many unique flavors and small handmade batches of ice cream (they're mixed and churned in the store), this place is definitely a great stopping place for the ice cream connisseur or the motorcyclist on a break.

I tried the "Buckeye State" and "Brown Butter Almond Brittle" flavors. The "Buckeye State" is an ice cream designed to be a frozen version of one of Ohio's favorite candies, chocolate buckeyes. The "Brown Butter Almond Brittle" is a sweet-tasting cross between pecan praline and butter pecan ice cream. I had the scoops served in a freshly made waffle cone. The store also tempts your palate with root beer floats and made-to-order sundaes featuring their regular or seasonal flavors.

There are five locations within the Columbus area for you to try their original and regionally-inspired concoctions. You may also visit their website @ http://www.jenisicecreams.com. Mmmm...ice cream.
